Context
[DRAFT] At Splits we measure rowing with the indoor-rowing standard: pace per 500 meters (/500m), the convention popularized by Concept2 and the one our rowing calculator already uses.
[DRAFT] The definitive methodology explanation for this section is pending review: it will describe how we structure the rowing blocks and how they connect to the calculator.
Methods
[DRAFT] The rowing method families are not defined or approved yet. The three slots below show the page structure.
[DRAFT] Method 1 — pending definition
[DRAFT] The team has not approved the first rowing method family yet. This block is a structure placeholder.
[DRAFT] Method 2 — pending definition
[DRAFT] The team has not approved the second rowing method family yet. This block is a structure placeholder.
[DRAFT] Method 3 — pending definition
[DRAFT] The team has not approved the third rowing method family yet. This block is a structure placeholder.
How we derive the numbers
[DRAFT] The rowing calculator uses baseline times per level and distance taken from the wizard presets (2,000 m, 5,000 m and 10,000 m). The table shows those values exactly as they exist in the product today; the definitive methodology explanation is pending approval.
| Distance | New | Beginner | Intermediate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2,000 m | 00:10:00 | 00:10:00 | 00:08:00 |
| 5,000 m | 00:25:00 | 00:25:00 | 00:20:00 |
| 10,000 m | 01:00:00 | 01:00:00 | 00:45:00 |
